Being in ministry with people is the highest calling there is. Because it is humanity's highest calling we at Urban Ministry believe in a standard of excellence in everything we do for everyone we encounter. Whether it's the volunteer or the client, the student or the elderly, we strive to be in loving, authentic relationship with all people.

This comes out of our deep belief that ministry is ultimately about being in relationship with God and relationship with His children. At Urban Ministry, we are not called to change people, or to change West End, or to change the world. We are called to love people, love West End and love the world. Each of our ministry programs reflect this belief. When being in relationship with others is the value that drives you, giving them your best becomes the ultimate goal. We hope you will join us in being in ministry with God's children.

Our pay-as-you-can cafe serves a delicious lunch and lots of love two days a week. We cater, too!

Since 2008, WE Garden has grown fruit, vegetables, and essential skills for living, working, and thriving.

Housed at the Joe Rush Center for Urban Mission, WE Serve connects groups of volunteers from across the U.S. to residents of West End in need of house painting and home repairs.

Our Urban Kids program will now focus on these critical aspects of development: academic, social, and emotional learning.

This includes Urban Ministry's emergency services programs to prevent chronic homelessness, provide food security, and help seniors through Beeson Senior Services.

Interns who work in our social enterprise programs are enrolled in our innovative Workforce and Life Skills Program, WE Work.

Urban Ministry will buy neglected houses in West End and work with local residents who want to own a home. Once the homes are repaired, Urban will offer the young adults an interest-free path to homeownership.
